Luncheon Planned to Promote Show-Me Hero Salute Event
St. Louis, Mo., April 29, 2013—Show-Me Hero Salute, the not-for-profit group bringing the American Veterans Traveling Tribute (AVTT) Wall to St. Louis in June, is hosting a luncheon to promote the Wall event on Thursday, May 16, at Sunset Hills Country Club, 9555 S. Geyer Road, Sunset Hills, Mo.
The luncheon, which begins at noon, will be emceed by Debbie Monterrey, KMOX radio personality, and will include music by Ron Bryant and a talk by Tom Irwin, executive director of Civic Progress, an organization of area business leaders focused on supporting the metro St. Louis community. Irwin is a former Marine and veteran of the Vietnam conflict, and previously was president of public policy for the St. Louis Regional Chamber and Growth Association.
Tickets for the luncheon are $50 per person, and can be ordered by mail through Thursday, May 9, from Pat Fribis, 9843 Sunset Greens Drive, St. Louis, MO, 63127. Checks for luncheon tickets should be made out to “Show-Me Hero Salute,” and can be picked up at the luncheon, or mailed to you (Please remember to include your address if you choose this option.) The AVTT Wall is an 80% scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C., which has over 58,000 names of those who lost their lives or are missing in action as a result of the Vietnam conflict. The Wall will arrive with a military escort at Lindbergh High School, 5000 S. Lindbergh Blvd., on Wednesday, June 12, and will be on display 24 hours a day from noon, June 13, through 3 p.m., Sunday, June 16.
