Day one of the dig at Sappington House was a day of getting to know you; students and teachers, archaeologists and City of Crestwood personnel, SCHS and site side interpreters. It was a day of learning the business of archaeology with the jump-in-with-both-feet-first approach. It was a day of discoveries, skills, knowledge, and even finding things in the ground.
Finds of day one, in case you are asking, included pieces of brick, a block of wood, a metal washer, a piece of mussel shell, pieces of ceramic.
