The Sappington-Concord Historical Society is an event-oriented and member oriented organization sponsoring events for its members and the general public. SCHS has several events that happen on a regular basis, and then there are events that are one time only, or just happen every now and then.
Regular events
The main event of the year is the annual SCHS Memorial Day ceremony, held on Memorial Day.
The SCHS general meetings are the core of the event offerings of SCHS. The meetings are in the evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, doors opening at 6:30. They are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, or a Thursday late in the month, quarterly, in January, April, July and October.
SCHS at Friendship Village is a monthly daytime presentation for SCHS members who live at Friendship Village Sunset Hills. Any Friendship Village resident is invited to attend, as well as the general public. They are on Thursdays at 2:30 pm. They are held ten to eleven times a year.
Other events
Some SCHS events are one time only, or just happen every now and then.
Some one time events are related to a special SCHS project. Among these are the dedication ceremony for the school bell restoration project at Concord Elementary School. Another was the dedication ceremony for the bust of Charles Lindbergh donated by SCHS to the Lindbergh Schools and installed in the auditorium lobby at Lindbergh High School.
