Statement from Jacque Stock, Chair of SCHS Community Relations committee
In an effort to express our condolences for the nine people who lost their lives in the Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, June 17, the Sappington-Concord Historical Society placed a wreath at the Father Dickson Cemetery Sunday, June 28, in front of the monument to Father Dickson. In light of President Obama’s moving and historic eulogy at Rev. Clementa Pinckney’s funeral on Friday, June 26, this seems to be a time to reach out and make a “statement” that we must stand together and express “Amazing Grace”….
