Learn and laugh about oral traditions of lore and lingo as dynamic reflections of our culture. As the Gateway city’s unofficial ambassador and a native St. Louisan, he has been heard on KMOX and NPR decoding St. Louis lingo and telling stories about the lighter side of our hometown. Dr. Jack, as he’s called by his SIU-E students, was inducted into the Great Professor Hall of Fame. He also was the syndicated newspaper columnist of “American Folksay” and solo writer for Johnny Cash’s radio program.
