The Sunset Hills Historical Society (SHHS) invites the public to a program that will feature the President of the St. Louis Browns Historical Society and Fan Club, Ed Wheatley, on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 7 PM at the Sunset Hills City Hall.
Who remembers the St. Louis Browns? We all love our St. Louis Cardinals, but there was a time when we had two teams to root for, from 1902 – 1953, from both leagues.
There is a jagged history of the St. Louis Browns until they became the Baltimore Orioles. Wheatley will discuss the history of the Browns, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals, and present and display memorabilia. The St. Louis Browns, American League Baseball Team, called St. Louis its home for 52 years. Wheatley will also have the book for sale, St. Louis Browns, The Story of a Beloved Team, co-authored by Wheatley, Bill Borst, and Bill Rogers.
Also, Historical Society member and baseball memorabilia collector, Len Panneri, will have some of his St. Louis Browns baseball collectibles on display.
This program of the Sunset Hills Historical Society will be at the Sunset Hills City Hall located at 3939 South Lindbergh Blvd.; St. Louis, MO 63127. It is free and open to the public.
