On Monday, October 24, 2016, the Sunset Hills Historical Society will host Mary Lou Tapp, the store manager of the Home Depot in Sunset Hills.
She will explain the community landscape project underway for the intersection at South Lindbergh and West Watson. The overpass is considered the crossroads of Sunset Hills. This was the first “cloverleaf” exchange west of the Mississippi River. Built of pink granite in 1932 (restructured in 1980), it was designed to handle the traffic of the “southern” version of City Route 66 (Watson Road) at its junction with Bypass 66 (Kirkwood Road).
The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Hills City Hall, 3939 South Lindbergh Blvd., in Sunset Hills. We look forward to seeing you then!
