The Dig in the Times

The dig at Sappington House was featured on the front page of the South County Times, June 10, 2016 issue. Focusing largely on the Lindbergh High School group of students and their teacher, Ashley Lock, the article shows the dig experience as educational for the students and a contribution to the history of the South County area.

June 15, 2016 –
On the last day of a two-week archaeological dig at Sappington House in Crestwood, Ladue High School students B.J. Amuchioruwari and Grace Wallace sift through their discoveries June 10. The Sappington-Concord Historical Society sponsored the dig, which was overseen by Lindbergh Schools teacher Ashley Lock. The highlight of the dig was uncovering a building foundation.

Remember that the dig was sponsored by three other organizations in addition to the Sappington-Concord Historical Society; the AIA St Louis Society, Sappington House and the City of Crestwood. Lindbergh Schools students participated as well as Ladue High School.
