Thomas Jefferson visits White Haven

On Saturday January 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site will welcome Thomas Jefferson.Bill Barker will portray the third president of the United States and author of the Declaration of Independence.
Come experience the words and thoughts of Thomas Jefferson brought to life. In a fictional visit to St Louis, Jefferson will share his thoughts about the “New Empire of Liberty” and what he thinks it might mean for its citizens. Kids and adults alike will have the opportunity to ask Thomas Jefferson about his life. Bill Barker will step out of character at the end of the program to take questions about portraying one of this country’s famous citizens and discuss with the audience the relevance of Jefferson’s thoughts for us today.
Bill Barker started portraying Thomas Jefferson in 1984 and now regularly appears at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. Barker has performed as Jefferson at the White House, the Palace of Versailles and throughout the United States.
